I love sea turtles! We have a Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island, one of the barrier islands off the coast of Georgia. They rescue injured sea turtles, nurse them back to health and release them back into the ocean. They put monitoring devices on the shells so that they can track the movements of the turtles. You can adopt sea turtles on the website, www.georgiaseaturtlecenter.com. I recently adopted one named Duffy. That is my maiden name. Had to adopt him/her. (The sex of the sea turtle is not known until they have fully grown.) Duffy is still a juvenile.
Update on Duffy: He/she is doing well!! They are nursing the wounds with honey and honey combs. Apparently this is an ancient remedy for open wounds. You go! folks at Georgia Sea Turtle Center!
They have a turtle that has a debilitating condition and needs contributions in order to get the medicines he/she needs in order to survive. Go to www.georgiaseaturtlecenter.com to make a donation. These are endangered species, folks. We need them in order for us to survive. You may not realize it, but everything is here for a reason!!!!! God has a plan.
